Alea Nadeem, looking to unseat Rep. Marcy Kaptur, discusses early stages of campaign

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Alea Nadeem says she’s answering a different call to service.

The Air Force veteran announced in April that she’s running for the Republican nomination for Ohio’s 9th Congressional District, hoping to ultimately unseat Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio).

She hopes to earn the trust of northwest Ohio voters as she introduces herself to the electorate.

“I am not a career politician,” Nadeem said. “What I really want to do is get stuff done. I really want the people of northwest Ohio to get somebody that they deserve in Washington.”
