Political Newcomer Alea Nadeem Raises Six Figures to Begin Race Against Kaptur

Toledo, OH – Republican Alea Nadeem, a Toledo native, Air Force veteran, and candidate

for Congress in OH-09, released the following statement after announcing campaign fundraising numbers for the first two months of her campaign:

“I am humbled by the support and generosity I’ve seen from family, friends, neighbors, and people I’ve never met who’ve stepped up to support my campaign because they want a fighter and a winner, not another career politician,” Nadeem said. “Being a political outsider, I had to start from scratch, introducing myself to voters and donors. Despite that, we raised $135,000 in 8 weeks, nearly surpassing what the 2024 Republican nominee—a career politician and political insider—raised with the help of the National Republican Congressional Committee, during his entire primary campaign. And we are just getting started.” 

Alea Nadeem’s campaign and affiliated committees raised nearly $135,000 and ended the quarter with $85,000 in the bank. Over 3,500 individual donors contributed to Alea’s campaign from all parts of the 9^th District, Ohio, and across the country. As a sign of grassroots strength and fundraising potential, Alea outperformed Congresswoman Kaptur among donors who gave $200 or less. Alea raised $78,194 in small contributions compared to Kaptur’s $54,995.
