Improving Healthcare and Making America Healthy Again

Home / Issues / Improving Healthcare and Making America Healthy Again

Americans are less healthy on several key metrics than nearly every country in the developed world.  Our life expectancy is 6 years younger than the average of the developed world, we lead the world in obesity, and we have alarmingly high rates of chronic diseases and drug overdoses despite leading the world in per capita health care spending.

Alea believes we need to reform health care and the federal bureaucracy to focus on health care outcomes, not on how much money the federal government allows big healthcare monopolies to extract from taxpayers through special interest handouts.  She supports empowering Americans by making healthcare pricing more transparent, giving patients more choices, and focusing on preventative medicine.  Alea supports ensuring the Medicaid safety net exists for those in need but cracking down on waste, fraud, and abuse that undermine the program’s integrity for those who need it the most.
