TOLEDO, OH – The Guardian Fund today announced its endorsement of Alea Nadeem in Ohio’s 9th Congressional District, adding the national Republican organization to a growing coalition backing Nadeem’s bid to flip a seat that voted for Donald Trump in 2024.

Guardian Fund identified OH-09 as one of 13 congressional districts nationwide that backed Trump at the top of the ticket while returning a Democrat to Congress—seats the organization is targeting for Republican pickup in 2026.

“Alea Nadeem is exactly the kind of candidate we are proud to stand behind,” the Guardian Fund said in a statement. “She has served this country with distinction, she understands the threats facing America firsthand, and she will bring that same fight to Washington on behalf of the people of northwest Ohio.”

Nadeem is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserve. Her military career has spanned roles as a special agent, intelligence officer, and national security advisor at both the Pentagon and the National Security Council.

Her path to service began on September 11, 2001. After the attacks, Nadeem enlisted in the United States Air Force—a decision shaped in part by her own experience of living without freedom as a child under Saddam Hussein’s regime in Iraq, where she spent time in captivity after being kidnapped by her father.

Alea Nadeem thanked The Guardian Fund for standing behind her candidacy and said, “I know what it looks like when a government takes freedom away from its people. Northwest Ohio deserves a representative in Washington who actually understands what it is like to live without freedom and the gift we have under this flag in the United States of America, and will fight for our rights and freedoms every day in Congress.”

Nadeem is running on a platform focused on accountability in Washington, restoring American manufacturing and agriculture, and supporting President Trump’s America First Agenda. The Guardian Fund endorsement adds national organizational support to Nadeem’s campaign as Republicans look to capitalize on the competitive landscape in OH-09.
